Title: "Hypersonic Aerospace Plane Graduate Design"

Competition: NASA/LPI "RASC-AL 2004"

Overview: A team of ASDL and SSDL graduate students designed  a hypersonic aerospaceplane (HASP) under Strategic Theme 3-B of the RASC-AL 2004 competition. They worked in a team-centered, competitive environment, applying ASDL’s probabilistic design methodologies and tools as well as SSDL’s spacecraft design capabilities. The resulting viable, robust conceptual designs for Two-Stage-To-Orbit (TSTO) TBCC-based vehicles have the potential to contribute to ensuring the nation’s future in space.
