| Title: "Support of Pratt & Whitney Space Propulsion PMDO Activity" Sponsor: Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne Task: P&W Space Propulsion has been working on “refining the concept-to-hardware design processes by employing visually articulated Preliminary Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (PMDO) techniques in the conceptual design phase of new propulsion systems.” ASDL supported this effort by helping P&W develop a “description and definition of PMDO methodologies, particularly in the area of design and analysis tool integration, including the formulation and use of Response Surface Modeling (RSM) techniques and visualization of the RSM elements and analysis results within a PMDO process.” |
