I work as an analyst at the RAND Corporation ("the original think tank"). Most of my projects are in support of projects for the US Air Force and other national security clients, as well as NASA.

Prior to this, I worked at the Georgia Institute of Technology, as a research engineer in the Aerospace Systems Design Laboratory (ASDL). My focus there was in the area of advanced systems design, including:

bulletDesign methodologies and design team performance
bulletNext-generation access-to-space vehicles
bulletSystem-level design space exploration
bulletComputer-based environments for collaborative interdisciplinary design

As the 2006/2007 Postdoctoral Fellow of Georgia Tech's Sam Nunn Security Program, I worked on additional research in the area of national security policy, critical infrastructure protection and homeland security.

I also have background in some of the human-related aspects of spaceflight:

bulletCrew performance
bulletLife support
bulletMedical aspects and safety
bulletHuman Factors
bulletAstronaut selection
bulletFully immersive simulation of manned missions
bulletHow these areas influence - and are influenced by - the top-level systems design process

My resume has more information on my past and present professional activities. Most of my publications are available for download here. I also have a LinkedIn profile.
